Two old friends of mine from high school are fighting on Facebook because the one girl is dating the other girls BD. She posted about how much she loves her step children. They’ve been dating for under a year. Idek why but it has always bothered me when people call themselves step mom or step dad when they aren’t married or engaged to the father or mother of the children. Relationships fail, and for you to do early call yourself their step parent just because you’re dating their parent is weird to me. I get married in two weeks and I had that “step dad” conversation with my kids after we first got engaged. Idk maybe I’m weird 🤷🏾‍♀️
