Do you believe in the cry it out method?

Cry it out can be reasonable but absolutely not at the age our babies are. At this stage, they still need the comfort and security that we provide them. There are MANY studies that show crying it out this young can do more harm than good.

Absolutely do!!! My son is almost 12 weeks and I’ve been doing it since about 5-6 weeks. If he goes over 8-10 minutes then I jump in. If he is changed, fed, and I know he isn’t hurting or sick then there’s no need to hold him all day. He needs to learn to soothe himself. Now 12 weeks he is pretty much the perfect baby. Sleeps through the night besides 1 feeding and can entertain himself, takes his naps, now enjoys tummy time. Etc. right now, we are picking him up after the 3-4 time he cries after spitting out passy because he is teething. But, other than that. Nope, we use cry it out. And I don’t regret it!

I did controlled crying with my son when he was 16 months. It took 3 days and he never woke up in the night again. But it was hard, I certainly wouldn’t do it with a baby but he was waking every night and I couldn’t get him out the habit so it worked for us then

Yep! We use the cry it out method for our guy. It's actually just part of his bed time schedule because we will bathe and then feed him and lay him down and he will sleep for about 15 minutes and then wakes up crying because he likes to fight his sleep. We let him cry for about 10 to 15 minutes and then I go back in and give him 2oz and he's out for the rest of the night. I could care less what other people think about the way we raise our children, this is my fifth so I know what works and doesn't work for MY babies so if it works for you mama by all means go for it. As long as you aren't letting them cry for 30 minutes until they're gasping for air you're fine. The cry it out method is just another way to teach them self soothing as long as it's used wisely.

I tried it with my first born (4 years ago) because that was what everyone told me to do. It was the list stressful time of my life going through that. He hated it, I hated it, my husband hated it. And it didn't help much. He has had the most separation anxiety out of all my kids. I also have a 2 year old & now the 3 month old. With the 2 year old I did the exact opposite & she has no separation anxiety & it was such a breeze handling her without having her cry it out. 
All that to say, I know everyone has their own beliefs about how to raise their kids & I understand that. I just loved I guess it's called the attachment parenting style rather than the cry it out method. It was peaceful to me & let me love on my baby.

Definitely not. That seems too stressful and sad on baby and mommy.
