Birth Story ! 36+6

Story Time!

Our little princess came early! Monday the 16th. I went in for the last ultrasound at 1230 (I was scheduled for Induction Wednesday the 18th), they were worried about my BP being so high. They sent me over to L&D for monitoring, but after 45 min they decided to induce me and said Pre-eclampsia 😟 they started me on a magnesium drip; it made me dizzy and couldn't move my body. I was on bed rest and that sucked. Small contractions started around 11pm and they hadn't even started the Induction meds! I was 1cm dilated at 1am and they put in the pill and the foley bulb. I was 3.5cm dialated within the hour! My contractions got worse and because of bed rest, I couldn't get into any positions to help them except my back or side, and even then I needed a nurse to help move me. I asked for an epidural when I was about 5cm. They broke my water sometime after. I was so out of it. The magnesium made me dizzy and sick, so they had me on oxygen to help with the baby's heart rate. About two hours passed and At 1230 pm on The 17th, I started pushing. Baby came at 240pm! They never did the pitocin, my body just did everything it needed, that was amazing.

My husband saw the whole thing, my moms plane landed and she made it with 30 min to spare. even in my drowsy state, I felt Lydia's head and that helped me get my final two pushes!!

Baby Lydia Raegan was 3 lbs 12.5 oz and 16.5 in! I was 36+6 when I delivered, so she is in the NICU for the time being just because they want to make sure she can stay warm. She's perfect. My husband has been so freaking amazing, I cry thinking about it. So, yeah! I probably missed a bunch of details, but I got off magnesium 16 hours ago and I'm just now feeling like a human again lol.

The NICU Dr said she can go home at 4lbs! As of today, Sept 19, she's 3lbs 13.5, so she's gained some and she's almost ready ❤️ it's been a whirlwind. I'm just so happy it's over lol. Now I need to get adjusted to mom life.
