It depends how easy it is to see your boss. I m a teacher I told my principal in person but I emailed my supervisor. She works at the district offices and I rarely see her face to face.

I think it depends on your relationship with your boss. All my bosses I would have told in person. If you aren’t comfortable then email.

I did it face to face. Explained to my boss that I highly value my job and that I intend to be a part of the company for the next five years or more. That I agree with the direction the company is going and that I intend to be a part of the journey. Also I am pregnant and will be away from the office for a while starting February.
If you believe your manager will be awkward, then t your HR first and give them a week to train your boss ;)

I did. Lol but Because I was planning on announcing and she had left on vacation and I thought I should tell her before the rest of our employees found out. We have a pretty good relationship though

I’ve been working here since May and don’t have a personal relationship with him. Hardly ever talk about anything other than work. He also is very awkward when having any conversation with him. I may see him twice a day.
