Midwife , obgyn ??

Not too sure on obgyn and midwife differences?? Let me know your experience if you have or had a midwife!

Midwife can’t do much Incase of an emergency. They have to call in a doctor, where an ob is already able to take action right away Incase of an emergency. At least that’s what I’ve gathered.

So after my experience I will always require an OB to handle my pregnancies. Midwives are less medical intervention because they don’t have all of the training an OB has. I personally feel had I had an OB instead of a Midwife with my last pregnancy I would’ve been able to carry my daughter the second half of my pregnancy, instead of having to carry her in my heart.

My midwife was actually like my “ob” before I got pregnant. She gave me my paps and all that. She delivered my sisters children and now she’s gonna be delivering my first . She is honestly the best and is making my pregnancy a really good experience . She makes it more personal rather then Obgyn’s .

A midwife typically does everything  except C-sections, or other cases where they know that medical intervention will be needed. They are way more natural in their birthing approach, and will help you give birth instead of the obgyn that will "treat" your birth. 
In most of Europe the vast majority of birthings are with a midwife. An obgyn will be available bat the hospital in case, but isn't called in unless needed.
