Sucessful induced vbac ❤ 40+1
Natalie Isabella was born September 18th at 11:04pm 🎉 20 inches long, weighing 6lbs 13.8 ounces
We went into the hospital at 6am to be electively induced. I was taken into our room, had the IV with saline put in shortly after. I had been given the antibiotics for strep b. Original plan was to have a foley bulb inserted before picotin was used. We skipped it and Piction began at 9:15am in small doses, raising every 30 minutes. I was at 1cm, 70% effaced. 12pm came around and I was checked, no change at all. 12:15pm, my water was manually broken as I was having constant contractions (internally since only the machine showed i was having them) as soon as the gush of water came out, i went from not feeling contractions to them getting stronger every 2 minutes until my pain level was at a 7. 2:35pm I was in agony and asked for the epidural. Contractions did not back down, 1 minute long and 2 minutes apart at that point. While the anesthesiologist was working on my back, I was pratically screaming in pain, shaking like crazy. Shortly after, I felt the sweet release from the hell I was in and my cervix was checked and I had progressed to 3cm and still 80% effaced. An hour later, 5cm! 5 pm I got up to a 6. I was continuously being rolled over on my sides and eventually had a peanut ball between my thighs. I was stuck at 6cm for hours with the epidural starting to wear off I thought about backing out and just getting a repeat c-section. At 8pm, i began to feel every contraction and the pain had me shivering. My boyfriend held me though while pain meds were introduced via IV. Nothing was working instead of taking the pain way, I was feeling the pain harder by the second and had the shakes. My lovely nurses were so worried about how I was and kept checking up. I was passing out between contractions. 10:15pm I had my cervix checked again and I was STILL 6cm dilated. We were all frustrated at this point. I felt the need to poop and had no idea that was the sign that my body was ready to push. 10:30 I was once again checked and I was 10cm dilated and 100% effaced with my daughters head beginning to show through. It was pushing time. My mom and my boyfriend were on each leg and my nurse was guiding me though the pushes. I did 3 pushes per contraction to give my body time to rest and not be tired. About 15 minutes later, I was almost finished and my ob was on her way. She was determined to deliver this baby. I was told to do little pushes but i was not having it that way. My ob got here and in 2 long and. hard pushes, my daughter was born! I felt every second of my daughter's birth as the epidural was no longer working. I got to hold her right away skin to skin while i birthed the placenta (which felt more painful than my daughter did coming out). I only got a first degree tear. I never thought I'd be able to give birth vaginally. 10 hours of labor, 30 minutes of pushing. I'll take this over a c-section! I was up and walking 3 hours after she was born. I loved every second of it and was worth all the pain and shaking! I'm currently still in the hospital but will be discharged later today hopefully asap as we want to go home to her brother as well
