Please help us sleep 😴😴😴

My eight month old will not sleep through the night anymore. He goes to bed in his own room at 730 no problems. But he's waking up at midnight screaming. This has been going on since he was allowed to sleep in bed with us on vacation a few nights. Now it's like he screams because he wants in bed with us. At this point I rock him back to sleep every night for like an hour or more and sometimes he still wakes and wails when I try to put him down. Any tips?? I've tried letting him cry a few minutes, going in and comforting him every few minutes, sitting next to his crib, putting my pillow case in there, I've even caved and brought him into bed because my husband and I both work and we're struggling although I know that doesn't help 🙄🙄🙄🙄
