Breastfed babies with lactose intolerance?

So I was told today that breastfed babies poops shouldn’t smell. Mine LOs always have and now I’m thinking maybe he has a lactose intolerance😬 I cut out milk out of my diet a while back trying to help his reflux/milk spit ups but it didn’t seem to make a difference but maybe I wasn’t trying hard enough? Anyone else dealing with this?

Eliminating dairy or anything for that matter in your diet won't help a baby who is lactose intolerant because lactose is the sugar in all mammalian milks. It is produced in the breast and the amount of lactose in breastmilk is independent of the mother's consumption of lactose and hardly varies.
The symptoms of lactose intolerance are liquid, sometimes green, frothy stools and an irritable baby who may pass wind often.
If you think something is wrong and your baby isn't gaining weight or is irritable I would discuss it with your pediatrician. 
My daughter is lactose intolerant and has severe acid reflux. I had to stop breastfeeding and use a special formula. Hopefully you will be able to continue to breastfeed. I wish I was still able.

My baby’s poo smells too but has never shown signs of being lactose intolerant. I’ve honestly never heard of that being a sign/symptom of it
