Sweep or not to sweep?

Question

When does a Midwife offer a cervical sweep? Is it after you’re already over due? I’m 38 weeks and just trying to prepare mentally for this baby to be late 😂

I was offered one at 38 weeks but declined. 39 weeks today and baby is still comfy!

Been offered one on the 4th of October (I'll be afew days over 39 weeks)
My friend had like 3 or 4 leading up to 42 weeks and ended up needing to be induced 🤷‍♀️

I’ve been offered it once I’m 39 weeks I’m a FTM so idk how it’s going to affect me but hoping to have already gone by then 😂

They all vary, there aren’t set guidelines. Some won’t until past your due date others do. Mine offered me one at 39 weeks, I had it and it bought on labour so I was 3 days early. My friend had one by same midwife at 39 weeks, then another at 40, then another at 41 and had her daughter the next day. Have to do lots of walking/bouncing after for it actually to do anything.
