Pumping room at expo?

Question

Can my boss refuse to give me a space to pump if we are hosting an expo? I have a place at the office but this is an hour away. We have one every year and I told her I would need a room to pump at the show and she sent it to her boss but said “they will probably have you pump in the bathroom”.

Call the expo place ... you’re reading too far into this. Find out yourself and do some planning. If you have to pump in a bathroom one day is that the end of the world?

To answer your question, yes she can refuse. Because there are other accommodations. Like a bathroom. Or sit in your car. Most pumps have an A/C adapter.

It’s not your place of business, so yes they can refuse. They have no control over the expo space. Like someone else said you can call the expo place and see if they have something for you. Get an ac adapter and pump in your car, all pumps make them. Or get a nursing cover and pump wherever you’re sitting, or pump in the bathroom. Those are your choices. I’ve done both pumping in my car and in a bathroom, it sucks, but it’s life. Not everything always goes your way.
