First ultrasound ?s

Hey! My first ultrasound is tomorrow I’m about 6w 4d and wanted to know what I should do prior/what to expect. 
I.e do I need to drink a lot of water and have a full bladder for the ultrasound?

I had my first ultrasound on Monday and they did it transvaginaly and let me tell you this because no one told me, that shit hurt. But I got to see my little sac. You might end up being earlier or later than the app tells you. We thought I was almost 6 weeks but I was actually almost 5. Good luck to you mama! I would say drink water just Incase you can always pee if you have to!

I’ve always had vaginal ultrasounds only before 8 weeks. They always have me empty my bladder beforehand!!

They should have told you that. The US that I have done were always abdominal (drink lots of water) and then they ask me to empty my bladder and do a transvaginal US. 
If they did not tell you to drink a litre of water then you’re ok.

Hi, just had my 7 week ultrasound on Monday. It was abdominal, not vaginal. I wasn't given the option of vaginal. I'm in Canada.  And unfortunately the tech couldn't see much so I'm going back next week. They said it was a little too early.

Did they specifically tell you to drink a litre of water? I had my first ultrasound today and they told me to drink 4 8oz glasses of water an hour before. They got a few pictures with an abdominal and then told me to go pee and they did a more thorough one with a transvaginal.

Wouldn’t hurt to call and check.. they had me drink 32 oz of water an hour before my appt.. did an abdominal first then I emptied my bladder and they did transvaginal... also they take a lot of images so don’t be alarmed if it takes a while.. I was so nervous and of course she kept a straight face so I couldn’t read her...  until the very end she turned the screen to show me the little rice sized baby! Lol

My ultrasound at 6 weeks and 3 days was transabdominal. I have a small bladder so I only drank a full glass of water an hour before my appointment and the ultrasound tech could see the baby just fine. My doctors office always calls with instructions usually a day or 2 before my appointment

It’ll be a vaginal so no you don’t have to drink lots of fluid
