My Boyfriend Doesn’t See a Future with Me

My boyfriend and I started going on dates last year in August, he told me his job was planning on relocating him out of state but nothing was set in stone until a week before he actually left. Once he got the news he was for sure moving away he took me out to a very fancy restaurant and we had a lovely night and said goodbye. After he moved we talked on the phone every night until 3 am missing each other and still getting to know one another. He flew me out to visit a couple of times and he flew back home for holidays to see me and family. We mutually decided if we wanted to continue our relationship we needed to stop being long distance so he asked me to move to with him in March of this year. I immediately uprooted my life, quit my job, and bought a car so we could make the drive and live together. It’s been hard because he works a lot and we don’t see each other much but it’s still amazing because we get to be together. Months go by and I guess we got settled into the routine of life. We booked a trip back home to visit family. We’re not married yet so he stayed with his parents and I stayed with mine. He refused to see me during the trip, even during a dinner he had with his friends where everyone brought their girlfriends and wives, I was not allowed to come.

A few days after the trip he comes home from work and out of the blue tells me that he doesn’t see me as his life partner and wants to break up.

I still love him and definitely want to marry him and think breaking up is the worst idea in the world but there is absolutely nothing I can do to change his mind. As embarrassing as it is, I’ve begged and pleaded and he just keeps telling me he’s sorry and he still loves me, but that we’re not right for each other.

I know I just need to let him go but it is so hard and i do not want to lose him and have to move back home and start my life over again.
