Vent and advice please. I’m in Ontario Canada.

So I missed my window for testing for Down syndrome and such conditions because I didn’t ask my doctor enough questions. That’s the short of it.

When my doc gave me the req for 11-13 week testing she told me they test for down and such. She told me to contact north York general for the appointment. So I did but their system said that bloodwork can be done anywhere and it will be sent to them. No one is mentioning an ultrasound at any point I must add. And this is where I feel stupid. I thought to ask the question about a 12 week ultrasound but when I asked my doc I said “so I had an ultrasound for staring at 6weeks and the next one is at 19 weeks?” She said yes. No mention of one in between. And I wanted to ask but I didn’t and I should have.

Fast forward to today i go to get my bloodwork done at a clinic and they tell me that I should have done an ultrasound first then come for the bloodwork as they measure things and they use that as sine sort of marker. And now it’s too late to do. So I ask them did I need an ultrasound req as well and they said yes which my doc never gave for this period.

So now I’ve missed my window to test and I feel so stupid. I think I can do the quad screen but that seems to be for only 40+ women and high risk which I’m neither.

Does anyone know of any testing available after 13 weeks in Ontario?

Im calling my doc on Monday and have an appointment on the 8th.
