Sex after a c section?

How long should I wait to have sex after a c section? Believe it or not I’m not really in a lot of pain and seeing how good of a dad my man is makes me wanna pounce on him 😫 im so impatient!!

My OB said it's better to wait til 6w but if I'm really feeling it and my bleeding had stopped by 4w it would be okay.
Before that you not only have the dinner plate sized wound where the placenta was, but also the incision on the inside of your uterus that's healing. If you're still bleeding, or spotting when you move around a lot, you're still healing.
Check with your OB if they will clear you sooner. Don't risk infection, internal hemorrhaging (which can kill you) and pregnancy again (because you're super fertile) so soon after birth. It's not considered super safe to have C-Sections too close together.

It’s typically 6 weeks regardless of what kind of delivery you had. Either way you have a large open would from where the placenta was but with a c-section you also have a surgical incision that needs to heal. Not waiting puts you at an increased risk of infection and/or hemorrhage which would put you back in the hospital away from your new baby and your SO. I promise it’s not worth the risk no matter how many other people tell you they didn’t wait and didn’t have any issues.

lol I was like you and ended up with #2. shes 5 months now lol.
anyways, once your dr clears you and you have subsided bleeding, you are good. you are still HIGHLY fertile for 6 to 8 weeks and still likely to develop an infection with an open cervix. if your dr checks your cervix and clears you before 6 weeks you should be fine. mine checked me at 4 weeks after having my daughter and gave me the okay!

Sex after my c section HURT! We waited 6 weeks and used lots of warm up time and lube and I couldn’t bare it. Maybe because I did labor for 36 hours but I’ve heard of people with planned c sections also having painful sex. I “felt” ready after 4 weeks as in I wasn’t in significant pain from my c section and had a sex drive, but we ended up not being able to have non-painful sex until around 13 weeks 🤷🏼‍♀️

6 weeks minimum. If everything is good your doctor should clear you at your 6 week check up. I definitely wouldn’t do it until your doctor clears you. You risk infection before that.
