Induction?

Question

I'm 39+4 today with a MF appointment on Thurs, at which I'll have my induction date booked (incase I don't go naturally before) has anyone had an induction previously? How long did it take? I really want a water birth - was it still possible? Do I get sent home or do they keep me in the monitor my progression (I also liver an hour from the hospital.) TIA

If your being induced thy generally keep you in, but  depending what they give you they might send you home. My friend wanted a water birth when she was induced but because baby was early she wasn’t allowed plus additional complications. It is possible to have one but like others said it really felt what they are giving you and how you react to it. I’d ask my midwife about it all when you book the induction, they will know the specifics for the hospital your going to. Maybe ask for a sweep to be done too, this can bring on labour so an induction isn’t needed. I had one and my daughter came a few days early and I had my water birth 😬good luck!!

I was induced at 38+2 had 3 pessaries, one on the day I was taken in and then another the next day and my little girl was born at 5:12pm. They kept me in and on a monitor whilst to record babies movement, heartbeat etc

Everyone is different. Mine took a while but others I know had quicker experiences. I  believe that induction makes you higher risk though so no pool allowed.
