After my 12 week ultrasound and blood tests for the first trimester screening my midwife called to tell me I have a higher than average risk of the baby having Down’s syndrome. 1/130 and for my age it should be 1/800 but everything on the ultrasound looked perfectly fine. My midwife told me it could be a) a false positive and baby is 100% healthy b) Down’s syndrome or c) another more serious chromosomal disorder. Needless to say I am freaking the F out. Crying non stop. I just want a healthy baby. I scheduled an amnio for next Tuesday to get a for sure yes or no answer and the waiting is killing me. Has anyone experienced this before? What was your outcome??
