I would try uncovering hands. My midwife gave me good advice when my son was first born and I was concerned about him scratching his face, she told me that they heal so quick and it’s important for them to be able to explore with their hands and face. It would also allow him to self soothe.

Also do you always cover their hands? It looks like your LO is trying to self soothe but can’t get to their hands

Mine has gas and sometimes squirms like this. Our 4 week old won’t stay asleep unless he is wrapped in a thick halo swaddler with his arms out.
