Can I take my NuvaRing out now?

I hate Hate HATE this stupid thing. I have been using the NuvaRing for 3 months + 1 week, I’ve been using it on a 4 week cycle with no breaks between rings so therefore I have not been ovulating/having a period every month. My last period was 6/9/19. I can no longer tolerate the hormonal side effects and want to take the ring out immediately. I had sex 4 days ago (without a condom), should I wait to take the ring out or is it safe to remove it now? I know some people ovulate immediately (within a few days) when withdrawing from hormonal BC, but even if that happened I’m pretty sure Saturday’s sex puts me far enough away from the fertile window. But I just want to be sure. We usually use condoms as a backup but didn’t on this particular occasion. We will be using them exclusively going forward.

My doctor’s office is swamped so I can’t get in for the next couple of days. I left a message with the receptionist and I’m hoping to get a call back today, just feeling out people‘s experiences with taking the ring out early. Thanks in advance
