Expensive Registry Gifts?

I’ve been recommended the Baby Jogger City Select stroller and it looks amazing, but it’s more than I want to spend and I’d feel kind of guilty for asking for something that expensive on my registry. Does anyone have thoughts on that?

I have that stroller and I love it. Just because you register for it doesn’t mean you’re forcing anyone to buy it for you. Maybe a few family members will go in on it  or maybe you’ll get a bunch of gift cards and can buy it after with your discount.

It’s totally fine as long as you have plenty of other things that are lower prices as well. You may find that a group of friends/families want to pitch in and get it for you together.

Put it on there most places give you a coupon for anything that wasn't purchased off your registry. Make sure you have plenty of more affordable options for those not able to buy the more expensive items.

My work bought me the most expensive item on my registry.  Also, if its on your registry you typically get a discount from the price after your shower (like 15-20%). I was sure to put a lot of price point variety (even things I didn't want) and then exchanged them for items people didn't get me (like my breast pump - because who wants to buy that)

My my and her sisters woukd usually go in on big ticket items (and a few smaller items) when buying baby shower gifts for my cousins or other close family members. I say put it on!

We love the uppa baby and have it on our registry but it’s only with the intention of using the 15% off coupon at the end of it. My mom freaked over the cost of it but I explained we don’t expect anyone to buy it. Also amazon lets people donate to gifts over a certain price, so even if it’s not covered in full, you could still have a substantial amount off of it in the end.
