Can I drink a glass of wine if I'm breastfeeding?

Would it be safe to drink a glass of wine if I'm breastfeeding but pump out milk ahead of time? How long would I have to wait until I can breastfeed again if I only drink one glass? (not a big glass)

As long As you aren't drunk your milk is fine. Pumping and dumping is a thing of the past. I've talked to multiple lactation specialists. Your totally fine with a glass of wine!

Yes, nurse or pump then have some wine. Literally you will be sober by the time you’re up to nurse again.

I heard it’s best to wait until baby is at least 3 months, younger than that and they cannot process any alcohol that may get to them. Once past 3 months, I also read you can drink that glass WHILE breastfeeding, by the time it gets in your bloodstream you’ll be done nursing (I think that was the reason, maybe google it.) then it should only take about 3hrs to leave your system and you can nurse again. I also read plenty of claims that one glass won’t harm baby even if you don’t wait three hours or do anything special. Enjoy mama!
