Depression ?

I had my baby 6 days ago. I am constantly crying and if I go out with my partner and the baby I just want to go home and I end up having to go to the toilet to cry as I’m getting upset, i feel like when he goes back to work I am not going to be able to cope.. has anyone else been through or feel like this right now?

My daughter just turned one month and for the first three weeks I cried every single day. Nighttime was especially worse. I'm a first-time mom adjust the transition of having a baby dependent on you 24/7 and not being able to just go do what I please when I please. As selfish as it sounds it was a big transition and I was not exactly ready for it. My baby was planned and we are stable in every sense of the word but I was not ready for the pure exhaustion then I would feel. My hormones have kind of leveled out now so is much better and I feel like I can manage it a little easier.

I had my baby on 09/14. I have a 10-year-old daughter already and had some postpartum with her... but I was 18 when I had her and was in a terrible situation. I’m in a great situation now and have a wonderful husband! I literally have no reason to be sad or depressed, but I cannot shake the sad feelings. The first two weeks I kept telling myself that it was “normal” and just the “baby blues”. I realized yesterday that it’s more than that. I have a postpartum appointment scheduled for 11/01, but I called my doctor yesterday and they wanted me to come in today. I was almost ashamed to call at first because I shouldn’t be feeling like this... but I realized for the sake of myself and family, I had to call. I don’t want to be miserable the first 6 weeks of my baby’s life. So, I’m going to go in today and just see what they recommend. You do what you need to do and what’s best for you and your family ❤️

Could be the baby blues - usually that lasts for about 3 weeks. If it persists longer than that, go talk to someone. Totally normal!

Yes. Hormones. You'll get through this. Hang in there mama. Do what's best for you. Don't go out as much if it's too hard. Stay home and just get by for the next few weeks. I'm only on week 3 with my little one and had a melt down yesterday. You'll get through this ♥️

It’s the other way around for me I love being out and I get depressed when I’m by myself.
