Weird situation... need advice

So we just found out we’re having a baby girl! My husband and I love gender neutral names for girls, and decided on one we are both obsessed with. I told my best friend today and she was really upset... said I was being insensitive because her first love (boyfriend) had this name and that she would never name her best friends ex for her child’s name. I told her I felt bad for hurting her feelings, but that it was for a girl and I personally wouldn’t be hurt if the situation was reversed. I will say this relationship she speaks of was about 10 years ago, but he did do a number on her. Was toxic, she got pregnant, and lost the pregnancy.

She is married now but going thru a lot of problems with her current husband, so I am thinking she partially exploded on me because she’s going thru so much.

What do you all think? Is that messed up to name my child of the opposite sex that name? Should we look for another name? My husband thinks it’s a bit ridiculous so I am feeling very torn.
