Did you find that your mother, or MIL were posessive over your first born?

I feel like my in laws definitely will be possessive. This will be their first biological grandchild. They are already super possessive over a baby that’s not even related to them (it’s the child of a friend of my husband’s). Every time they see her, they will literally drop anything in their hands and say, “Give me that baby!” Then they fight over who gets to hold her first, who has held her the longest, who held her more last time, who she likes best, etc. It’s absolutely ridiculous, and I can only imagine it being worse with our child. 
I don’t think my mom will be possessive necessarily, but I know that she will have a special connection with this child because I am her only daughter, and this is my first baby.

My MIL has 3 grandkids already two of them are mine but is absolutely NUTS over my twins like everything room, theme, names, their clothes matching all of it.

She still is almost 7 years later 🙄 we’ve had another child who is almost 3 and she doesn’t give him nearly the same amount of attention as our daughter, it can be very frustrating at times .
