I'm torn

Annie

So I've had my IUD (skyla) for 3 1/2 years now. I got a new one placed back in May and now I'm thinking of removing it. When I got my first one placed it took my body about 6 months to a year to get used to it. I had terrible cramps, headaches, nausea, depression, and just general ickyness on and off for that entire year and then things seemed to settle for the most part. I still got those symptoms but they only got bad around my period and then went away. I also get yeast infections all the time and I'm pretty sure the IUD has something to do with it. I've been thinking of getting my IUD removed because i just don't feel like myself anymore and I just don't feel good. I have been suffering from nausea for a couple days now and I'm sick of it (literally). My only downside is that I am sexually active and my boyfriend and I both like that we can have spontaneous sex without the hassle of condoms and I like the protection it gives me against pregnancy.

If I get it removed then we would have to use condoms 100% of the time and I don't know how I feel about that. I like that we can have sex whenever we'd like and I'm such a paranoid person that I would worry about pregnancy all the time.

I would love to know anyone's story that is similar to mine. Did you keep your IUD or get it removed? What was the outcome? Do you regret your decision or love it?
