Baby Shower Gift

One of my closest friends is having a baby shower in 2 weeks and she's a first time mom. Majority of her registry is already purchased. I thought about getting something just for her instead. I saw a dainty necklace that says "mama" and it's just her style. Would that and some diapers be ok to give at a shower?
