Pregnant - now what?

So I just found out that I’m pregnant! 😁 this is my first - I’m new to this. What are the first steps? (Doctors appointments and stuff?)
I tested early so I must be barely along. Glow predicts I’m at 3 weeks. I know some doctors won’t see you that early (I’ve heard) but I have no idea what’s next!

Wait until you’re passed your period and then call your doctor to make an appointment! Probably won’t be for a while yet x

First I called my GP and they made me an appointment to have bloods taken and I had to fill in a form with details of my last period etc. They confirmed I was pregnant and sent me details of an appointment at our local hospital when I was 8 weeks I think to see a community midwife. At that appointment they asked family history questions and recorded height, weight and did some other blood tests. Then I had an appointment at our main hospital at 10 weeks where they gave health and lifestyle advice and do’s and don’ts while pregnant and did some more routine tests, then I was given a date for my 12 week scan. I was high risk so ended up having way more appointments and scans than normal after that so don’t know what they offer you if you have a ‘normal’ pregnancy and it differs depending on where you live I think!

Yup call your doctor and set up an appointment. Most will wait until you are 8 weeks along to see you. This is so that the pregnancy is a bit further and also so they can more easily find the heartbeat with their ultrasounds. Sometimes before 8weeks it can be difficult to find and it scares and stresses the parents when really it’s totally fine. 
Just start taking your prenatal vitamins and avoiding the foods/activities that pose risks to baby (raw fish, raw meats, alcohol, smoking, etc).

Wait til your period is due and call your doctor, it directly to your obgyn/midwife if you already have one. And take it from there. Don't be surprised if they won't see you for what feels like ages.
