These seem like weird/ drastic options. Why would throwing your child a party mean you cant have a wedding?

I feel like one of these costs about $100 (or much cheaper) and the other costs like $5000. Not exactly as even trade.

If you keep pushing off your wedding every year, have your wedding and do a small family party with cake for your child for one year. Or you’ll never have your wedding.

I'm confused how a child's birthday party is equal to a wedding?? 
The cost of my kids birthdays don't even come close to what I spent on my wedding (and my wedding wasn't what I would call "expensive" and I had 2 kids when my hubby and I got married we did things "backwards")
Why can't you do a small birthday (which is honestly all kids need anyways) and do a small wedding?? Set a date and start planning and saving.. it'll never get done unless you make it happen.. 
And it's not like you don't know when your kids birthday will be next year lol so plan your wedding opposite of the birthday?

Well, being married was very important to us so we did that.
Celebrating our child’s birthday is also very important to us, so we will be doing that as well. I don’t see why there has to be a choice between the two if they’re both what u want.
If ur questioning getting married then don’t do it. A child deserves to be celebrated though even if it’s just a small little party.

This is weird but if I had to choose I’d throw myself a wedding. If I had a kid, I’d more than likely just take them to their favorite place to eat and/or their favorite place to go to celebrate birthdays.

Have the birthday party then maybe get married at a courthouse and have a big celebration later on? That way you both win
