Dr. Browns colic bottles

2 questions for any mommas that use these.

1.) Will the bottles work without the green inserts in them? (Sorry I would try it myself but I’m at work and I just thought of this lol)

2.) Has anyone anyone switched from the colic bottles to regular bottles or took out the inserts now that our babies are older? I’m scared to chance it but it would make washing and making up bottles a lot easier! Wondering how the transition went if you switched your baby and If you noticed they were the same or fussier?
