IS WEARING BLACK TO A WEDDING OKAY?

so I have to attend this wedding tomorrow and I literally don’t have nothing to wear but a black maxi dress. Some people are telling me that you shouldn’t wear black to a wedding, but I feel like I see people wear black? My dress is a solid black maxi dress? I don’t want to dress too too formal for this wedding nor do I wanna look like I dressed too down for this wedding. 
What do y’all guys think. Should I wear the maxi dress or go find another one in literally less than a day? 
ALSO I KNOW THIS DONT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH TTC BUT I DIDNT KNOW WHERE TO INSERT IT AS A CATEGORY

I personally think wearing black to a wedding is tacky. I mean a black tux is one thing but no one even did that at mine except for my dad (and I picked that out lol). Someone wore a very cute white and black floral dress to my wedding and that didn’t bother me at all... a solid black outfit might make me think something else though. 
My mom told me a story about her first wedding and how her MIL wore all black to their wedding (they didn’t like each other) and I guess that’s just where it stems from for me haha.

Personally I wouldn’t wear all black it’s a wedding full of fun and laughter. Wear the dress but brighten it up with a colour bag and accessories
