You won't be able to lose a significant amount of weight while on bed rest because that requires exercise & increased heartrate. However, if you eat really healthy you likely wont gain weight, possibly lose a few pounds but it's far more difficult.

Absolutely. Nutrition is 80% of weight loss. MyFitnessPal. And a Fitbit was all I used. You get a set number of calories and when you exercise you get extra calories to eat or save towards the end of the day which is your calorie deficit and equates to weight loss. I did zero exercise for 9 months and still maintained my weight loss and lost a little more. I had lost 87 pounds maintained it, I’m almost 100 down. High protein high fiber and low sugar low salt and mostly granola bars for bread carbs. I attached a sample of the kinds of things that I would have. I still eat other things. I eat mostly vegetarian during the week and save meat and dessert for eating out once in a while. And walked at home in my kitchen step together step together and just put on music and had fun. I wanted to prove that exercise was not the important factor in weight loss and I was right. It’s only 20%. You won’t lose a lot of weight but a little at a time. Exercise helps the rest to move. Maintain a calorie deficit and that’s it. Hope things get better.
