is this a keloid?

i’ve had my industrial pierced for a little over a month, and this bump appeared a few days ago. i’m wondering if it’s a keloid and if i should do anything serious about it or just use tea tree oil.

It looks like something with irritation so I would try to avoid irritating it as much as possible and keep your hair up. I would go to your piercer first and see what they recommend. Mine recommended diluted tea tree oil. Unfortunately that did not help. I got hypertrophic scarring on my helix from sleeping on it and I’m still struggling to get rid of it 2 months later. After taking my piercers advice and it not working I tried witch hazel soaks, sea salt and tea tree oil soaks, and am now trying alcohol on it. I don’t recommend alcohol as a first resort because it can be the most drying. It doesn’t dry my ear out, but it can be harsh on others. I would talk to your piercer and go from there though.

My holy grail is a mix between water, tea tree oil and sea salt!!! Saved my life more times than I can count. I mixed it and applied it at night and in the mornings

I recently got an industrial as well! I got these bumps too, and they disappeared after a few weeks. Just make sure you are cleaning the piercing really well (I cleaned mine two to three times a day)!
