Help! Thrush?

Question

I have a six day old baby and we’ve been exclusively breastfeeding. Trying to distinguish between normal (beginning) breastfeeding pain from cracked nipples and possibly thrush.

Not thrush. But I use to get this!!! Just don’t mess with it and it’ll go away. It can be tender.

Definitely nipple soreness/irritation from early stages of breastfeeding, I got this too with my little one. I found Lanolin wasn't really helping it would just hurt more, I would recommend coconut oil, I found this really helped with the nipple soreness. My little peanut is 7 weeks now and I'm still using coconut oil on my nipples after feeding.

Doesn't look like thrush. Try warm water towels on your breast or on the shower as hot as you can handle and nipple balm I'll get better mama your doing great

Not thrush. I thought the same thing was happening to me and the LC said that thrush that early is typically uncommon. They make these gel pads you can buy at target that stick to your nipples and help heal them. Pop them in the fridge and they're glorious! Also lanolin. I would use the pads between feeding and then right after nursing I'd apply lanolin. Good luck!

Seems like typical early day soreness/irritation. When this happened to me I put coconut oil on my nipples all day long and sat most of the day topless. Made a huge difference in just 24 hours.
