If you ask a yes or no question here why add “poll” as an option? What does it mean?

Because some yes or no questions cannot be answered by everyone, or some can’t decide and want an alternate option

Sometimes people just want to see the answers or the questuons doesn't apply to them

I often put "poll" when the answer isn't as simple as yes or no.

If someone asks “does your kid....” yes or no... I don’t have a kid so I would click poll because I still want to know the answers but not mess up the persons poll.

If you don’t have a poll option some people will just vote and eventually skew your results— just because they want to see the answers. You can see the answers unless you vote. Plus when I make a poll, I add the poll option for myself. I don’t want my own answer to affect the results and, as I’ve said, you can’t see the results without voting so I have to vote on something.
