Homecoming dress

I recently got invited homecoming at a completely different school by a guy that likes me. The thing is I bought this dress before that. And it has pockets that’s why my hip looks like that. But I’ve been having huge anxiety about the dress. Is it ok to wear a long dress to hoco?? I don’t know if I should get another dress or if people will even like it because I’ll know no one at the school. Can someone please give me advice???
