Do opks test positive on day of ovulation?

I picked up this test today. My app says I’m supposed to ovulate today but I have a feeling I ovulated a few days ago. The test looks negative but I read that you’re supposed to test 24-48 hours before ovulation. So does this mean I could have ovulated today since it’s meant to test beforehand?

You should start testing for ovulation depending on your cycle length. It says in the instructions but say your cycle is 28 days normally, they’ll say to start testing daily on cycle day 9 and keep testing until you get a positive. Don’t go based off this app but put in the time to learn your cycle using opks. They were super helpful to me as I learned I ovulate around cycle days 18-20. Way later than the normal cd14 most apps guess.

That is a negative ovulation test. They are only positive when the test line is as dark as or darker than the control line. An OPK would be positive 12-36 hours before ovulation. Apps just guess so you may be getting ready to get a positive or you started testing too late for this cycle.
