In-laws smoke

Sorry, I have no idea where to post this... if there is a better group please let me know 😊

I’m newly pregnant after trying for 2 years, failed IUIs, and 4 rounds of

. Our family knows our struggles of trying to have a baby and knows I’m pregnant now.

I hate cigarettes and cigarette smoke. It makes me feel sick and the smell is overwhelming to me even when I’m not pregnant. My in-laws smoke EVERYWHERE and A LOT, including their house. Obviously what they do in their house is their own business but it bothers me because they know how I feel and when I’m over there they still light up a cigarette right next to me.

I absolutely do not want to be around all that smoke with I’m pregnant. I also don’t want my child to be around that kind of smoke when they are born. I’m between a rock and a hard place. Husband agrees with me but also grew up around it his entire life. I have asked him to please have a conversation with them and his answer is “well they aren’t going to change so I guess we won’t go over there”... I really like my in-laws so it sucks. I don’t know what to do.

Any advice?
