4 days late and no positive yet. Usually pretty regular and not this late

Answer

No it did not take longer. I actually got a positive way sooner. It just varies by pregnancy. With my first I didn’t get a positive until the day before/day of my expected period. With my current pregnancy (got pregnant while breastfeeding) I got a positive at 7DPO. 
Your period could be off from breastfeeding.
