Extended breastfeeding

First off I’ve never posted in this group before, so if this has been shared before let me know.

Okay so last night I was watching the new TV show The Misery Index. Mainly watched it because I love the show Impractical Jokers and the guys on that show are on the this TV show as well. Basically two contestants go on the game show and must rate embarrassing very true stories on the “misery index”, with help from the Impractical Jokers guys. You earn money for guessing if one story is more embarrassing then the other or by guessing the right index rate on the story. And there’s 3 different index levels on this scale- pain, trauma and psychological impact. Hope that made sense 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

Anyway this story came on and tbh I don’t remember the index rating on it, I think it was over 50 though (on a scale from 1 to 100). I sat in bed and thought about it for awhile. Also thought about what other people thought about it.

Here’s my stance on it, it’s not my body. Breastfeeding till age 9 is a little weird to me personally, but I’m not one to judge. I’m assuming if the child wanted to stop, she would’ve voiced so. The mom states “When I came to have Charlotte, I had decided on natural term weaning. It’s nice for the child to be in control of when they want to wean, rather than forcing the issue”. Some people are also calling her a pedophile, which I think is extreme. She also breastfed her son at least until age 5, article doesn’t say if it continued longer then that.

Here’s the article.
