Getting baby’s ears pierced?

Thought about getting my 3 month olds ears pierced? what are y’alls opinions on young age piercings? I see it as, if she doesn’t like them in future she can always take them out and let them grow up. My baby girl has no bake and tired of people mistaking her as a little boy lmao. Of course I wouldn’t take her somewhere where they use piercing gun.. it would be a professional piercer. What’s your opinion?

I would never pierce a baby’s ears. It’s unnecessary. So what if people mistake her for a boy? It’s as simple as “oh she’s a girl” but honestly who cares. If some random in the grocery store calls either of my two daughters a boy, it wouldn’t matter. It’s a two second interaction. People likely won’t even notice her ears and will still call her a boy. Not worth the risk for infection, even if the risk is small. Not all holes close up. My daughters don’t need their ears pierced. Earrings are a nuisance. They get caught on things and fall out. Just stupid imo. Do what you want, but I think it’s dumb. I don’t care if it’s “cultural” either. I think many cultural practices are dumb. That doesn’t change my opinion.

Personally, I wouldn’t pierce my daughters ears until she’s able to voice to me she wants them done.

I agree with you, personally I think it’s better to do it young while you are in control of cleaning them and before they start rolling around in dirt at the park and stuff. I got my daughters done around a year old, she loves them and later on if she decides she doesn’t want them, she can take them out. I meant to do it earlier but I just never got around to it lol

I had my daughters done at age 5 when she asked for it to be done.i always dressed her in pink and purples and put head bands on her when she was little.

I'm waiting until my daughter can ask for it herself. It's her body.  Plus just one more thing I have to take care of. I'm too exhausted for all that.

I’ve had people ask me and try forcing me to get my daughter’s done since she was 6 weeks old. I said no. Reason why is because of infections, the pain (they don’t understand what is going on and it hurts), and it’s just pointless to me. Plus it’s her body. If she comes to me and tells me she wants them done, she can. But right now I’m not going to put her through that. You have to clean them all the time and they can be sensitive and get infections easily. No shame to parents who have pierced their child’s ears though, it’s their child they can do what they want with them.
