EWCM in menstrual blood?????

Hi everyone, I’m super confused.

So I’m on cycle day 1 today and last month has been pretty off- my cycle lasted 35 days and usually it’s 26-27 days, but has varied 22-30 days over the last 8 months.

Anyway, I started using a menstrual cup this cycle (today for the first time) and I noticed that there’s definite mucous in the cup along with the blood. It’s all stretchy and really shiny/filmy, I haven’t noticed this ever before.

Is it possible to be about to ovulate on CD1? Or is this due to a hormone imbalance? I’m so confused as i didn’t think that was possible?

I will mention this next time I see my fertility specialist, but I’m not due to go back for another few months. He has indicated my workup indicates some abnormalities (low AFC, thin endometrial lining, endometriosis).

Has anyone experienced this or know what it might mean?
