Daycare vs nanny for newborn

First time mom here. I’m due in February and know I will only get 12 weeks max of maternity leave. I’m nervous about putting a newborn in daycare. We will be living at fort Bragg so we are far from family. I know a nanny cost much more than daycare but what’s everyone’s experience with a newborn and daycare or a new born and a nanny that comes to our house? We are able and willing to pay the extra expense of its necessary but I’m new to this. Be honest with me if I’m just being an over cautious protective new mom please.
