Curious if mother in laws was an important factor in choosing who you would marry

For me, it was how my husband handled her. He prioritized me, but still behaved respectfully towards her.

Nope! She does not like that I am not Vietnamese. We have been together 8 years and married since February..she didn't think it would happen I guess. But here we are and now expecting..which she isn't the happiest about it since now her granddaughter will be mixed..

Oh god no, I hate my MIL but she doesn’t affect our relationship now. At one point she did because my husband didn’t believe she was psycho, well 4.5 years and going on our 3rd baby and she isn’t allowed anywhere near me or our kids

My MIL is mostly great but still has some habits that drive me nuts, especially now that we have kids. That being said, while we joke about her a lot, she’s a relatively small part of our life. We actually live down the street from her and my husband works with her, his father, and his brother, but still, her actions don’t really affect our daily family life that much. I don’t think I would have changed my mind about my husband even if she was awful, because if she was, we just would choose not to see her often.
