C section 38 weeks and steroids?

My doctor wants me to have steroids before my c section at 38 weeks exactly. I don’t know much about the effects of the shots long term and wondered if I even need it? Has anyone had a c section in the 38th week and baby was fine? Thanks!

I was induced but ended up having a c section at 38 weeks. It’s considered full term by most Drs so no steroids. Baby was great. I would ask why they are suggesting steroids. Seems overkill unless they suspect lungs are underdeveloped

I had my first baby at 37 weeks perfectly fine. Second at 35 perfectly fine. No steroids. Having this baby at 38 weeks exactly and not worried at all
