Would you take your week old baby out to a restaurant ?

My husbands fathers birthday is today and we were invited to the family restaurant for his birthday dinner tonight. I don’t know if I’m comfortable bringing My new baby out where a ton of people are. Some of his family hasnt met her yet and I feel bad , but i don’t want her to catch anything from a stranger who could be sick or something . Am I overreacting ?

I took my baby to hobby lobby but left her in her car seat with a car seat cover on. I didn’t allow anyone to touch my baby before washing their hands but in public no one touches her.

My biggest worry would be how tired I am and what if the baby will cry 😂

That would be a NO from me. Not only because of baby's health (which is a big deal) but also because that's the last thing I'd feel like doing one week pp.

I took my son out to eat with family 3 days after having him. No one touched him until their hands were washed. Other than leaking milk through my pads for the whole restaurant to see, it wasn't a bad experience.😂 Everyone has a different comfort level when it comes to their child, just do what makes you comfortable.😊

If you feel ready for it, go ahead! Just take precautions like either not letting people touch or making sure they wash their hands first. Baby wear or leave baby in car seat. Whatever you feel is best. But if you aren't ready for that yet, I'm sure your family will understand!
