Can I breastfeed my baby and only give her the bottle on weekends? New mom and I have no idea how it works thanks.

You should really do each every day so your baby will continue due to do both. This is coming from someone who first refused the breast and then refused to take a bottle because we were doing one or the other due for various reasons I wont get I to it and it took a long time to get her to do both.

Yes, but I would recommend breastfeeding at least once per day. Baby most likely won't forget how to feed in two days, but if you're there it helps keep your supply since baby is more efficient than the pump. I breastfeed and then follow up my feeds with expressed milk if she is still hungry and then pump after. It is important to still pump when giving a bottle not only so you have breast milk to feed them but also so you are stimulating your breasts to let them know they still need to produce milk. If you don't pump you will get engorged and also be telling your body it doesn't need to produce milk. If you're just starting your breastfeeding journey I would probably wait until your supply is regulated to go bottle for the full weekend for the same reason as stated above (baby will get more out of breast than a pump and you don't want to mess with setting up your supply)

You can try.  Though with all 4 of my kids they refused bottles between 6-12 weeks old after they went a few days without having one.  😕  We never could get them to accept them after that.
