My BF gave me money to pick out a ring for my promise/engagement ring cause he was tired of looking for a ring and I choose one out kinda over my budget and had to put it back cause was over my budget but I got this one instead and I wanted y'all's opinion on it..

Ehhh doesn't make the feeling of a promise ring. It's like he gave you money to buy yourself a gift. I feel like it's better when he knows you well enough to pick the ring out.

Id personally feel odd if I went out and bought the ring myself.. it seems like he’s not really into the idea/isn’t taking it seriously.

The way it looks shouldn’t matter. What I mean by this is, If the love is there and you both want marriage in the end then getting a ring shouldn’t be the symbol. If a ring is what you want then tell him I love you so much I could care less if it came from a gum ball machine. Personally a ring is a materialistic item that yes means something but, shouldn’t matter how much or where it came from.

You shouldn’t be buying it on your own. We went out and looked together. Found the one we both loved. He went back and bought it in his own. We went and picked out his wedding band together and I bought it and took it home with us. I surprised him with a ring to wear before the wedding that he now wears on his right hand.
