Is infertility genetic?

This is something I probably should have asked my doctor but I’m just thinking about it now. My sister has unexplained infertility as do I. Is it just a coincidence or could there be some kind of connection?

Answer

It really just depends. Some causes of infertility are genetic and some are not. With unexplained infertility science isn’t yet capable of explaining the cause,so there’s no way to know if it originated from a genetic factor. My entire family consists of the most fertile people on the planet...even conceiving while on hormonal birth control. Yet, here I sit 2 years into infertility and never even a hint of a second line.
