How do you do it?

I have a nearly 4 month old daughter and I have got to go back to work, I will be working 12 hour shifts 4 days a week. And I don’t know how I will go through the day because my daughter is everything to me... I will have to clean the house too. How doyoudo it all?

You just do. 🤷🏻‍♀️ You prioritize things as best you can, and you learn to not stress over dishes being dirty or laundry getting a little behind. You’ll find your balance, but it is intimidating in the beginning, for sure. Just take it day to day. 
I also work 12 hours 5-6 days a week. So, I totally get it.

I also work 4 12 hr shifts. I like to do chores while my son is sleeping. If I get behind then I get behind. Quality time with my son is way more important to me. My husband also tries to help out when he can.

Do it for her. I know it’s hard and sucky. When you’re home, if you have housework, make her apart of it. I’m going back to work when my babe is four months and I baby wear him a lot now. I will babywear him doing even chores so I can have that extra time with him.

I work 12s too. I went back after 6 months. But hubby stayed home for the other 6 so I knew she was with him and I felt better. But when you get home just breath in all the snuggles and live for the times you've got. 12s are hard. It's honestly not easy. I cried a bunch.

I couldn’t get anything done until recently. My daughter just turned 1 and she’s been entertaining herself lately and I’m training her to put herself to sleep coz another bby on the way. But first few months u just really need all the support U can get. U won’t be able to do everything on your own. It’s very hands on in the beginning.

I feel like I never sit down until I’m laying in bed lol. I wake up before baby to get ready ready, work all day, get home and immediately plop I’m the floor to play. Play time, dinner, bath and when she goes to bed it’s speed clean time! The days are long but SO worth it!

You do your best. Prioritize, accept that the dirty dishes will have to stay in the sink overnight, and give your adorable little one quality time since the quantity factor isn't in your favor. Don't feel guilty about ordering takeout on those days that you are just spent. Can you hire a housekeeper to come every couple of weeks? That's what we did when I went back to work and it has been amazing to not have to clean my house on the weekend (aside from the occasional sweeping of the kitchen floor and wiping down the countertops).

It sucks and you don’t get near enough time with your baby, but you make it work cause you have to. At least I have to.
