How fertile are you right after having a baby? And for how long ? Has anyone fallen pregnant right away right after having a baby ?

My dr actually told me that most people he sees are pregnant again before their 6 week check up. 
I think it’s up to 6 months after giving birth where you’re extremely fertile?
