Whatever works best for your baby but not until 6 months.  I had one that did blw at 6 months and the other had an issue with textures so she started homemade purées at 8 months and real food finally at 14 months.

BLW has strict guidelines after 6 months 
Have to sit up independently etc . If you do this it’s really helpful to do lots of reading and join a group that’s strict on advice for help when needed.

My baby could not eat or pick up chunks of food at 6 months. So we did baby food but let her practice eating and picking up puffs so we could transition to real food quickly. Worked for us and I plan to do the same with my 2nd.

At 6 months (with our first), we did started on cereal and purees, just a little once every other day or so for the first couple weeks. We went suuuuper slow introducing food, just cause I prefer babies to get lots and lots of milk and most of their calories from that for the first year. My husband has some anxiety over babies choking, particularly on food, and starting with full on solids was just not comfortable for him. After a month or so, we started bringing in actually solids, steamed very softly of course. My babe eats EVERYTHING! Sure, he has his favorites and his moments where he doesn't want something in particular. We just keep trying and he gets back to it. 22 months and one of his absolute favorites is pickled beets ... Not my cup of tea 😂
